A job well done
On a cold and windy day last month, an excited group of officials from the city of Midwest City, the local chamber of commerce, Tinker Air Force Base and Rose State College gathered to cut the ribbon officially opening an impressive new section of Hudiburg Drive from Trosper Road north to SE 15. The widening of Hudiburg Drive provides citizens better and safer access to the west side of the Rose State College campus, as well as between Interstate 40 and SE 15. It also complements the Rose State College Professional Training and Education Center, opened in 2007.
If a road can be considered "beautiful,” Hudiburg Drive fits the description. The $1.1 million project was the culmination of collaborative efforts among city, state and federal governments. On behalf of the Rose State College board of regents, faculty and staff, we publicly recognize and express appreciation for the progressive leadership of Mayor Russell Smith, City Manager Guy Henson, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe and U.S. Rep. Tom Cole for their efforts to provide our thriving community with the funds for this important street improvement. It’s a job well done and dollars well spent.
