Aspects of BP Amoco's Acquisition of ARCO

Background

On April 1, 1999, the Wall Street Journal reported that BP Amoco and ARCO agreed to merge in a $26.8 billion transaction. The following tables show EIA, National Petroleum News, and company data for the BP Amoco-ARCO merger. These tables are similar to data presentations that have been previously requested from EIA for other significant energy company mergers and/or corporate alliances.
