The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Program (SETP or the Solar Program) actively supports a broad range of activities that facilitate the commercialization and deployment of solar technologies. DOE realized that, beyond improvements to solar technology, it is equally important to identify existing market barriers to the deployment of solar and ways to address these barriers.

SETP's market transformation efforts help break down these market barriers and promote deployment through stakeholder outreach at all levels. Through open discussions with various solar industry audiences, the Solar Program is actively engaging key stakeholders and early adopters through a diverse portfolio of activities that includes education on important issues, policy analysis, and technical advisement.

To learn more about the Solar Program's efforts to foster solar deployment, visit the Market Transformation section.

In addition, the Solar Program's Initiatives section provides information on its past and present solar initiatives, which are DOE-led efforts that include partnerships with industry, academia, and local governments.
