EIA is proposing to conduct a new biodiesel survey in response to the Energy Policy Act of 2005, in which Congress directed EIA to collect information on biofuels. This survey, the EIA-22M, will collect monthly data on biodiesel and co-product production, feedstocks, and sales. The entity responsible for reporting this information to EIA is the producer of the biodiesel. The survey will be mandatory. A one-time supplement, EIA-22S, to collect historical data on production, is also proposed.
The survey proposal has been published in the Federal Register, and submitted to the Office of Management and Budget. Presented here are proposed drafts of the survey forms (both the monthly form and the annual supplement) and instructions, as well as the Federal Register Notice (FRN).
