Statement of Senator Carl Levin on the Medicare Improvement Bill

WASHINGTON – Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., issued this statement following the 69-30 vote in the Senate to end the filibuster of the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008:

“This afternoon, Senator Kennedy’s dramatic return to the Senate broke the logjam on the Medicare bill. Not only did Senator Kennedy’s presence help us overcome a filibuster, but he also led the Senate to a veto proof majority.”
