Senator John F. Kerry, Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, and Energy Secretary Richardson Headline A Green Agenda for Earth Day’s 30th Anniversary

Washington, D.C. – Senator John F. Kerry will join with other environmental leaders from the Senate, the House of Representatives, the Clinton Administration, and leading national environmental organizations to kick off the month-long celebration of Earth Day. The group will discuss key environmental and clean energy priorities, as well as major budget items effecting the environment.

Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), Rep. George Miller (D-CA), Rep. Mark Udall (D-CO), The Natural Resources Defense Council, US PIRG, Union of Concerned Scientists, and Earth Day2000 Network.

WHERE: Room HC-9, The U.S. Capitol Building [basement level].

The first Earth Day was April 22, 1970. Since then, the national day of recognition of the importance of protecting our environment has become a month-long event.
