Washington — Senator Evan Bayh today announced that he will host his 6th annual Job Fair, Job Training and Small Business Summits across Indiana from Oct. 14 to 17 to help connect job seekers with local businesses in this challenging economic environment.
Bayh, a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship, encourages Hoosiers to take advantage of the myriad resources that will be made available to help workers. Last year, more than 5,000 job opportunities were available at the summits across the state with more than 250 business participating.
Many local companies looking to hire will be at each summit, and job training and employment assistance services will be provided to job seekers. Also at the summits, local entrepreneurs can consult with experts to help them seek capital to effectively grow their small businesses.
“In these difficult economic times, it’s absolutely essential that Hoosiers are fully informed about the job opportunities and federal resources that are available to them,” Senator Bayh said. “These fairs will have a wealth of resources to help Hoosiers find and retain good-paying jobs. They will be especially useful for those who own or work at one of Indiana’s small businesses, which are the lifeblood of our state’s economy.”
