Senator Brown hosted a roundtable in Wilmington with Mayor David Raizk to discuss with area workers the effects of DHL closing and next steps for the community. Sherrod has been working closely with local and state leaders, and the White House, since DHL announced plans in May to shut down their Wilmington hub, costing the area more than 8,000 jobs.
Senator Brown joined Northeast Ohio college presidents and regional business leaders for a summit today at Case Western Reserve University on strategies to combat Ohio’s “brain drain.” Attendees discussed ways to train college students and workers for 21st century jobs and strategies to create and retain good-paying jobs in Ohio.

Dayton-area middle class families shared their household costs with U.S. Senator Brown as he released a Middle Class Families Cost Index. “Middle class families are working harder, earning less, and paying more,” said Brown. “This combination is not sustainable. We need a new set of priorities in Washington that puts Dayton middle class families first.”
