Painting Amaryllis in Oil

The U.S. Botanic Gardens exquisite collection of amaryllis, will be the focus of this two-day oil painting workshop. Artists will choose their own amaryllis specimen to work from. Ms. Jaecks will provide guidance in studying plant structure, drawing and painting in oil. Topics include demonstrating the mixing of oil pigments, color harmony, value, and composition, and discussing the works of historical and contemporary botanical artists. Individual attention will be given and all levels of artistic ability are welcome. A materials list will be provided upon registration.
