Sen. Hutchison Announces Nearly $1.2 Million in Grant Funding for Texas Firefighters 12 Texas Cities to Receive DHS Funding for Vehicle Acquisition, Operations and Safety
WASHINGTON -- Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas’ senior senator, today announced $1,184,243 in U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistance to Firefighters Grants for Texas firefighters to improve overall preparedness and first response capabilities.
“These grants will provide our firefighters and first responders with the resources they need to save lives,” Sen. Hutchison said. “This funding will help these brave men and women better prepare for and respond to emergency situations in our communities.”
According to DHS, the funding can be used to train and equip firefighters, purchase vehicles and provide health and safety modifications to stations and facilities.
