Sen. Hutchison Announces Almost $17 Million in Police Technology Grants
WASHINGTON -- Texas’s senior Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX) today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) awarded over $16.7 million in grants to Texas schools and law enforcement agencies through the COPS Technology Program.
“Our law enforcement officers work tirelessly every day to protect our communities,” Sen. Hutchison said. “The resources provided by this funding will aid them in their important mission.”
The following organizations will receive funding:

According to DOJ, the COPS Technology Program provides support to local and state law enforcement agencies for the procurement of technology that focuses on data information-sharing or an enhancement of voice interoperability with regional, state and federal partners.
