Sen. Hutchison Statement on the Passing of Former UT and Rice President Norman Hackerman



WASHINGTON -- U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Texas’ senior senator, released the following statement today following the passing of former University of Texas and Rice University President Norman Hackerman:

“Norman Hackerman was a leader among Texas’ scientific and academic community. He helped make UT and Rice two of America’s leading research institutions. As the leader of prominent scientific organizations, he made countless contributions to The Academy of Medicine, Engineering and Science of Texas. His leadership and vision will be missed.”
