White House Tour Procedures

The White House recently announced that tours of the Executive Residence have been expanded to include parties of 10 or more people requesting a tour through their Members of Congress. A group must be made up of at least ten individuals, regardless of age or type of group. Interested parties should contact their Member of Congress to request a tour. Tours are scheduled on a first come, first served basis approximately one month in advance of the requested date.

Let me encourage you to submit your tour request as early as possible since a limited number of tours are available. Tour requests may be submitted up to six months in advance, and the White House requires at least six weeks notice before the requested tour date. Tours of the White House are scheduled Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30am - 12:30pm, and tour times are determined by the White House Visitors Office.

These tours are very limited, but if a tour is granted, additional security information is required from each visitor (first, middle, and last name, social security number, date of birth, citizenship and country of residence). All White House tours are free of charge.

For the most current tour information, please call the 24-hour line at (202) 456-7041. Please note that White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation.
