Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) is proud to announce that he will nominate 19 students from Ohio’s 8th District for appointments to the nation’s service academies.

“These 19 young men and women represent some of our finest students, and I’m pleased to nominate them to the nation’s service academies,” Boehner said.  “The academies not only provide a world-class college education, they train students to be future leaders in the armed forces.  I am certain these brave men and women will serve the academies, our community and our country with pride and honor.”

As a Member of Congress, Boehner is able to nominate students who reside within the 8th District to the U.S. Air Force, Military, Naval and Merchant Marine academies.  Nominations are made on a competitive basis and are based on academic achievement, athletic accomplishments, community involvement, commitment to service and character.  A congressional nomination does not assure an appointment.
