This hearing will examine Mayor Fenty’s recently approved proposal to assume control of the D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) and review his implementation plan, establish expectations, and ensure accountability in this effort. We expect this will be the first in a series of hearings to track the progress of the Mayor’s efforts to improve the District’s public school system.
