Back from the Christmas tree farm in Elgin... Got a great tree this year.
@johnrubio Here's to the next 778. Keep 'em coming.
You know what doesn't get old? Rankin/Bass Rudolph. Kids watching it for the 2nd time in days, and a nice break from our Star Wars marathon.
Not feeling well today. Sharing a bottle of wine with Traci but it's really not helping.
@twmills Yep, that was me. Ah the glorious days of web 1.x.
Surprised and honored to have my logo on this Campaign Monitor page next to Apple and other big companies. Thanks! http://tinyurl.com/5r35d2
@rickfillion It really is one of the least-fun things about Rails. Eventually I hope they take backwards compatibility more seriously.
Took some time yesterday and today to upgrade a very old Rails app (3+ years) to Rails 2.2. Not very fun.
Every time I see a new 1.0 pop up on MacUpdate there's a split second where I dread it might be competition.
@mattgemmell This particular Word file has Big Company Secrets, but basically it was that images did not show up in TextEdit.
@mattgemmell You'd think so, right? But I found the QuickLook preview of Word docs to be much better than TextEdit's support.
I wish you could "print to pdf" for QuickLook previews. For example as a quick Word -> PDF conversion tool.
Listening to live.37signals.com while I debug something in a large-ish MySQL db. Glad to hear about common usernames across their products!
@joconor I didn't even have time to go during C4, too much else going on at the hotel. Would be cool to squeeze in a trip next time though.
@ddribin I went as a kid too, and again 3 years ago. Pretty amazing.
If I went to Chicago and only saw this again it wouldn't be a wasted trip: http://tinyurl.com/chicagot...
@danbenjamin Ha, I should have. Figured you had the cables covered now. There is an XLR or 1/4-inch in there though.
@danbenjamin If the box was empty, the UPS scale showing 11 lbs needs fixing. Unrelated: Hope you like peanuts and packing wrap.
@dmoren MacUser RSS feed took a turn for the worse after being assimilated. No full posts, no authors. I like to filter by who wrote it. :-)
@joshpuetz I might have gotten more interesting results if I had done it on a scale ("loves commas", "kinda likes", "will never use", etc).
