Lowering rates for new buyers (what they Fed wants to do) doesn't stop foreclosure-driven oversupply. Inducing demand won’t solve it alone....
People who could make payments before their adjustable-rate mortgages renewed higher HAVE to be renewed at the same or lower interest rate
The key to economic recovery resides primarily (but not entirely) in stabilizing housing values
That 10% of home owners are in arrears or foreclosure makes me sense a deep, protracted recession, not unlike UK - http://tinyurl.com/63rx5e
I laugh when Bush & some economists allude to economic recovery some time mid-2009. It's not going to happen that quickly - mid-2010 at best

$1 a gallon gas *IS* a tax cut for most families. With gas so much cheaper than 6 mo ago, any tax cuts from Obama could be less aggressive.
Per CNBC, Shell’s CEO thinks $1 a gallon gas could be here in 3 months (citation n/a on CNBC web site as of now)
If you’re the slightest interested in that clown called OJ Simpson, he just got 9+ years - http://tinyurl.com/OJbye
Pres Bush is too busy looking to drill in Alaska, and expropriating natural parks for oil and mineral resources. I kid you not.
I expect the big-3 will get a bailout, with conditions, and that Pres Bush will _not_ veto the bailout bill.
I don’t think House members ought to be predisposed pro/con a bailout – until the end of the hearings – but they are entitled to be leaning...
