has shoveled a total of 11 inches of snow this week. Winter is finally here.
paid $1.41 per gallon for gas. Sure beats the $4.37 I paid in California last summer!
has had some very busy days lately and is now packing to go to Phoenix tomorrow for a well-earned Thanksgiving vacation.
went to a fundraiser with L. for a friend's daughter's ballet troupe in Ogden last night. I think we were the only non-parents there!
The rain held off long enough for me to mow my lawn yesterday for the last time this season. If only all my other yardwork were done!
Sang in the Requiem service at church this afternoon. L. said everything was nice except a couple of the readers, and the tenor's hair.
2. Walked under a shady ash tree, with the leaves falling, and realized that I planted that tree when it was just a little stick.
had two "Feeling Old" moments this evening at choir practice: 1. Looked at the plaque, and it's been 7 years since Mrs. Durrant died.
bought gas for $2.61 a gallon today. Wow! Everyone is going to fire up their Hummers and Suburbans again and ditch their scooters.
We continued our weekend art tradition by looking at a couple of galleries in the evening. L. found a cow on sale for $100. Now contented!
Yesterday L. and I went ahead and cut down the overgrown spruce trees. No chainsaw, just old-fashioned labor. What a workout!
L. and I went to the Secret Art auction yesterday. Combination of aesthetic appreciation and mad shopper free-for-all. But fun!
Harvested all of my tomatoes, peppers, and basil yesterday. None too soon, either; they were right about the predicted cold and storm.
Three inches of snow on the lawn this morning. All of it melted by afternoon, but fall has turned very wintry all of a sudden.
Nice weather today after scattered thunderstorms yesterday. Saw some spectacular lightning bolts on our drive back from the OVP BBQ.
Finally a day at home after a week of working with the construction crew all day and going to various benefits in the evening.
Also uploaded a picture for her--didn't know if she wanted to stay incognito, so I used an agave from her yard; the alt. was Dewars.
Figured out how to start linking other Twitter users to M. through me, with request pending for betterhalf.
Just set up Twitter account for mom. Wondering how we link her up to other people on here. She has no gmail, hotmail, etc. J?
First peaches are ripe in my yard now, also the grapes. D. gushed over the beauty of my overgrown spruces; maybe they will get a reprieve.
