“Too damned tall!” his superior bellowed. Bathgate the younger noted that the power of an axe lies in the wielding of it sharp end down.
Young Lance-corporal Brigham tripped across the mint green a-munching steaming crumpet. ”Why the racket and fury father?”
As the hammering increased so Bathgate Snr’s complexion grew ever russeter, fastly assuming the seasonal hue of coca-cola advertising.
Outside Colonel Bathgate Brigham beat a furious rhythm on an unnaturally horizontal scot’s pine. Inside the vicar echoed its tremours.
The good Reverend Deanscales awoke early to the sound of hammering. Gingerly he eased from the ill stuffed mattress to the window.
A frisky December of smouldering fires and distant scintillation. Here the village of Albert lies, nestling betwixt rolling buxom hills.
