Awoke to the sound of thunder, quite rare around here. (Actually awoke to baby bellowing, followed shortly by the thunder.)
Was going to go shoot some hoops in the park while wife and baby are out... but it started raining as I was leaving. Sigh.
My smoothie would be smoother without the odd fragment of overlooked cherry pit.
Heather got me Futurama: Bender's Game and the first trade of NEXTWAVE for my birthday (also a tiny cake with a skull candle); yay!
It's not every Friday I get half-lit on wine by 3:30 p.m. But it should be.
@erinkelley HURRAY CONGRATULATIONS!
Ken Scholes is in the next room playing guitar and singing "Brown Eyed Girl." I have a strange job.
Carrot cake. And, because of some miscommunication on the part of my co-workers, I get a whole EXTRA cake. A birthday miracle!
@gregvaneekhout Brutal! I vote you use octarine. Or some ink that can only be seen under blacklight.
@jay_lake Heather and I know some people who run the Dickens Fair. It's cool, though I find it a trifle exhausting. :)
@gregvaneekhout You can't use green? I always use green.
Page supposedly re-enacted Fritz Lang's silent film The Woman in the Moon at a NASA facility. Somebody write that secret history please!
@heatherlyshaw Can't you, like, kill ghost walruses or something for them?
Bettie Page did a private burlesque show for German rocket scientists (including von Braun!) in 1952. Probably apocrypha, but what a story!
Happy birthday to me! I belong in a tree! With tigers and monkeys and others like me!
@jonmhansen Nobody understands my paaaaain!
Alas, Bettie Page. I'll be writing her obituary tomorrow
@gregvaneekhout But seriously folks, I'm only worried about my writing career. I'll keep on digging the hell out of life in general.
@gregvaneekhout Wow, you started Kung Fu in the 1930s? I didn't know they had Kung Fu in America back then!
@JeremiahTolbert And happy birthday to you! 31 ain't nothin'. You've got lots of time yet.
