@jeffcutler Animated gif?? I can handle a recession, but I can't handle 1995-era Twitter profile image, repeating until the end of time! :-)
This is excellent: NYTimes now links directly to related coverage on other sites/blogs from its home page. Editors as DJs! http://is.gd/acIi
Our great-great-grandparents shout from beyond the grave with economy's solution. @JasonCalacanis channels: Work harder! http://is.gd/a9IW
@knash99 It's a new 13 week series on Sundance, called "Spectacle." http://is.gd/1L06 Good stuff - very loose and total music geekery so far
@kev097 Fun to watch two total music geeks (though I think Elv hasn't gotten as fusty in his taste as Sir E) Wishlist for season 2: T. Waits
If you'd told me in 1979 that Elvis Costello would one day have a TV show, and that his first guest would be Elton John? Inconceivable.
@scobleizer doesn't need to apologize: not "sort of" a journalist. http://is.gd/a2jY
Scoble intvs Merc publisher. http://is.gd/a2jY Lots of spin about the future, but he correctly IDs Q1 2009 as the proving ground.
@lileks How's mood at Strib following the Gannett artery-venting? (Some guy named Buddy Likeks is wonderg, "What the...???")
@Lileks So Tuesday's Bleat now becomes a "Wednesday Bleat Special Edition"?

@lileks "No Bleat" is like my coffee maker saying "Not today." Not that you're an appliance, but that the day doesn't start quite right.
@Lileks "it'll be up on my YouTube channel..." (cartoon double-take SFX) Wha?? Oh this should be fun... http://is.gd/9PIl
@maryvale Wish I still had access to the library - I think this notion has been banging around for much longer than 3 years.
@nancethepants Nobody should be embarrassed. But the notion that people need to wait to get to work to go online makes no sense anymore.
@base10 I could swear I heard it discussed way back in the dial-up days (otherwise, why bother), but wikipedia sez 2005.
@nancethepants I think it's become self-perpetuating. But the original notion of people waiting till Mon. doesn't make sense anymore.
"Cyber Monday" continues as story = gullible and lazy reporters looking for a story to fill the dead zone of T'giving weekend.
"Cyber Monday": I can't wait to get back to the office so I can use that internet they've got to shop online. 1998.
