@railsninja: Have you ever had an OS X update fail? I've not (even upgrading to Leopard), though I have read some horror stories.
@railsninja: 10.5.6 fine here - despite Shoes failing to quit and crashing the whole machine ;-)
Certain areas of social networking are like caffeine in their addictiveness and lack of ultimate result. Trick is figuring out which areas.
@IndianGuru: Looks good - thanks :)
All I can remember of last night's dream was that someone used "portmanteau" as a verb and I found it hilarious. Even my dreams are square!
I find Google Friend Connect very misleading. It doesn't seem to let people "log in" to my site.. just to Google's widgets on my site.
Looking at the pictures of the Greek riots one thing jumps out at me. There are almost no natural blondes in Greece.
Laura will never be a programmer :( She failed the classic "a=10; b=20; a=b; now what is 'a' equal to?" test.
It's not that we're too lazy to change blown lightbulbs, but Laura has candles lighting the kitchen.
Bill Clinton and Al Gore installing CAT-5: http://upload.wikimedia.org... - no joke!
@gilesgoatboy: Two words: "Chelsea Handler" :-P
Can't stop looking at this beautiful De Stijl map: http://tinyurl.com/5hubgx - perhaps you'll like it too.
@andrewdisley: Heh. Well, he did sell when it was up like $140 in March ;-) Great timing!
Love reading inside transaction reports on companies. Apple's Jonathan Ive (designer of iPod) sold $28.8m of #AAPL stock so far this year.
Never been in weather under -5C or so. Can't imagine what it's like in, say, Montana where the low is -32C (!!) today..
Love the bit in Pirates of Silicon Valley where Steve Jobs asks the applicant if he's a virgin or not. Job interviews should be like that :)
Ronald Wayne was the 3rd co-founder of Apple. He sold his 10% share in the company 2 weeks after it was founded for $800. Oh man :(
I seem to watch Pirates of Silicon Valley at least once a year. Now is this year's time.
@brianthecoder: It seems to get good reviews. I was just browsing really though :) So many random Dummies books in that cat..
The top book in "Computer Science->Artificial Intelligence" on Amazon.co.uk is "iPod and iTunes for Dummies".
