Description: Searchable database of more than 25,000 separate titles of English-language works on microfiche first published between 1801-1900 and available at the Library of Congress. The collection includes English-language books and pamphlets of research value originally published in all parts of the world except North America. Focus is on: English literature (including imaginative literature by women); linguistics; architecture, design, and the aesthetics of buildings, sculpture and monumental art, graphic design and the decorative arts, perspective proportion and other aesthetic qualities, and photography; texts on every aspect of the manufacture and distribution of books, magazines, newspapers and maps, and also on the rapid growth of libraries of every kind; and British history and civilization during the 19th century (with developments in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Burma and Malaysia). Holdings of the British Library form the basis for the titles selected.
