Huge divide between web & desktop apps is bad. Webapps link to others' URLs & desktop apps call others' APIs. Not very much between the two. |

SSDs have crazy-fast random seeks. Perhaps in an SSD future we will have more hash-tables-as-files and less sequential text? (not an expert) |
