Googling indicates that the bridge was opened by King because of the B.C. Douglas firs used in its construction.
Didn't know that London's Chelsea Bridge was opened by Canadian PM W.L. Mackenzie King in 1937 until tonight when I walked across it.
Back home after looking at Christmas lights and roaming the streets of London.
