@segphault: what were the selling points?
@teamsterjr maybe if someone's really lucky they'll find a sixpence in it
@keybuk so far most feedback on the M1330 has been good, except people who say "I hate Dell" generically.
@drewm nah, we don't do that. nobody does back ups.
@DanAdcock woah, the voodoo is expensive. Prettier than the Dell, but twice the price. That's a bit too much.
@setmajer your criteria for a new machine are different from mine :)
@matthewrevell it's not a totally unreasonable point, I admit it. :)
@DanAdcock looking at the Envy133. Nice. Looks like Vista only, though; trying to find out about Ubuntu support
@matthewrevell because art is a thing that I think ought to be preserved *even if the populace don't want it*, like museums.
@matthewrevell yeah, but would it be commercially successful without? I saw The 39 Steps there; if it were London prices I wouldn't have
@DanAdcock alternative recommendations solicited. What should I get instead in your opinion?
OK, after a certain amount of research, am looking at the Dell M1330 from dell.co.uk/ubuntu. Anyone know any reason why I shouldn't?
@matthewrevell that's the Lidl argument, though. It works but we beat everything down to the lowest common denominator (panto & cinema)
@matthewrevell it's art for the punter though, no?
Awake. Was faintly hoping that I'd just sleep until Christmas, but it was not to be. Still, I am here now.
Have eaten. Forcing wakefulness for Top Gearin 15 minutes. Then I intend to sleep for a thousand years.
Home. Thank god.
Missed my train arguing with the barista who says that chai latte is coffee. Great.
In Birmingham waiting for train for last leg of journey after travelling for 18 hours. So tired it is untrue.
