Baird Vancouver District Office Heads for Historic Officers’ Row

Vancouver, WA - Beginning Wednesday, July 28, 2004, U.S. Representative Brian Baird’s Vancouver district office will be located at the O.O. Howard House on Officers’ Row in the Vancouver National Historic Reserve.  Originally built to house officers and their families while stationed at the Vancouver Barracks, Officers’ Row preserves 21 Victorian homes built between 1849 and 1906 that are now used for residential and commercial purposes.

Since coming to Congress, Rep. Baird has obtained millions in federal funding for infrastructure improvements and operations maintenance for the Vancouver National Historic Reserve.   In 2000, Rep. Baird secured language in the FY 2001 Defense authorization bill which transferred partial control of the Vancouver Barracks from the Department of the Army to the City of Vancouver and the Department of the Interior.  He also introduced legislation in 2002 which authorized an increase in federal funding of the Reserve from $5 million to $25 million.

All mail sent to the previous address will be forwarded and telephone and fax numbers will remain the same.

The new mailing address for Representative Baird’s office will be:
