Morning folks
Calling it a night. Finished intercept on reactor with a proxy example plugin. This scratches also scratches a client itch, nice days work.
Pokes head up over the code & console, twitterscope up
My back is still feeling a little sore after yesterday's struggle with a xmas tree & house funriture re-arrangements.
This is really cool, hints of the development future in my book http://tinyurl.com/63qlh6
@hortovanyi SFa plugin for reactoredis is possible. I though that SF adding python libraries to GAE for Sfa was a master stroke though.
@hortovanyi You could write an archive plugin for Reactored that simply writes to files, stores on GAE,SDB,S3 or SQL or anything you like..
@hortovanyi At the moment with Reactored we make permenant storage someone else's problem to us it's realtime archiving
@hortovanyi Interesting piece, there is a great deal of speculation around re-invention of the database for the internet age.
@hortovanyi Reactored is like a time window on your data, hooking processes into that realtime stream.
@hortovanyi Reactored is more about dealing with data as it happens,as the data ages it gets archived in permenant storage.
@hortovanyi Reactored was born to scratch itches that are relatively small in nature (storage wise) short life data streams.
@hortovanyi You should definitely spend some time with it, even if its only small outings, I have found it a revelation for my coding.
@hortovanyi But we can run storage on disk also if required.
@hortovanyi Actually we archive to SDB/S3. For optimum use we run storage in memory, optionally distributed accros nodes/servers
@hortovanyi One of reactors design goals is not as a storage engine but rather as a write cache, we archive to other storage engines like S3
@hortovanyi We use mnesia for anything substantial. it all depends which backend you use with it as to what the size limtations are.
@hortovanyi Slowly but surely, I need to make a concerted effort in the new year to clean & document it so that others can play.
Oh dear my old expresso machine that I fixed seems to be crapping out again, may have to face the fact it is coming to the end of its life
@hortovanyi Fortunately we built the xml engine which continues to deliver for them. They wish to keep the content management as before
