Summary

GAO reviewed the President's second special message for fiscal year 1981 which proposed four new deferrals of budget authority totaling $2,770.8 million and revisions to three previously transmitted deferrals increasing the amount deferred by $846.2 million. It identified no additional information that would be useful to Congress in its consideration of the President's proposals. GAO believed that the proposed deferrals are in accordance with existing authority.
