(September 14, 2004) - Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (center) stands with the PTA National President Linda Hodge (on right) and President-Elect Anna Weselak (on left) at a briefing co-hosted by the National PTA and the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth. During the briefing, the congresswoman spoke about a measure she authored to address the problem of underage drinking in our country. She is the lead House sponsor of the Sober Truth on Preventing (or STOP) Underage Drinking Act, which would fund key educational and research initiatives, including a national media campaign, to reduce the prevalence of underage drinking.
