(September 21, 2004) During the national week of action on immigation reform, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard is honored by leading advocacy organizations for her work on the Student Adjustment Act. The congresswoman's measure (H.R. 1684) would help undocumented students who meet certain eligibility requirements to qualify for in-state tuition and obtain legal residency. Pictured at a reception in the Dirksen Senate Office Building, the congresswoman (center) stands with Frank Sharry, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum, and Judith Golub, Senior Director of Advocacy and Public Affairs, at the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
