(December 14, 2006) Boyle Heights - Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard congratulates the outgoing board members of the East Los Angeles Community Corporation (ELACC) at its open house called a "Tamales & Centennial Celebration." The East LA Community Corporation is a community-based non-profit organization that builds housing and provides educational programs that enable working families to improve their socioeconomic status. A longtime supporter of the organization, the congresswoman secured $124,000 in federal funds for Fiscal Year 2005 to refurbish their office space at the Eastside Dream Center at 530 South Boyle Avenue in Boyle Heights.
