(July 11, 2006) Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard (CA-34) meets with Los Angeles County School Superintendent Darline Robles and members of the Board to discuss the county's six-county collaborative effort to assist Southern California's English Language Learner students achieve high levels of academic achievement. Sixty-five percent of all English Learners in California attend school in Los Angeles County and the five-southern counties. In addition, the congresswoman, superintendent and board members discussed the Administration's proposal to eliminate funding that helps provide important Medicaid school-based services for students with disabilities.
