(March 24, 2006) Downtown, Los Angeles - Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard speaks at a reception hosted by the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. As part of the council's national executive board meeting, Latino labor leaders from around the country convened in Los Angeles to develop the council's national Latino agenda and legislative priorities. The labor council is a national organization found in 1973 by Latino trade unionists to serve and advocate for Latino workers. The council works on behalf of an estimated 1.7 million Latino trade unionists throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
