(August 23, 2005) Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard tours the Autry National Center's Museum of the American West located on Western Heritage Way in Griffith Park in Los Angeles. The Autry National Center is the administrative body of three museums: the Southwest Museum of the American Indian; the Museum of the American West (formerly the Autry Museum of Western Heritage); and the Women of the West Museum. In addition, the Center also oversees the Institute for the Study of the American West, which provides learning opportunities to scholars, educators, students and the general public about the history of the American West.
