Alabama Remembers 9/11
Rogers Comments on Third Anniversary of 9/11 Tragedy

Washington, DC  -  Third District Congressman Mike Rogers made the following comments today on the eve of the third anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:

“Alabama herself may not have been attacked on September the Eleventh, but our citizens grieve just the same. Three short years cannot fully heal the pain our nation has endured, and nor should they dampen the memories of those who perished that day.

“We Alabamians, like the rest of the nation, are a changed people because of September the Eleventh. But we are also stronger. When evil struck our shores, our nation rose in defiance and accepted the calling of our age to defeat the enemies of freedom and the opponents of liberty.

“On this solemn occasion, let us pause to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11. Let us give thanks for the heroes of that day. And let us never forget those Alabamians who continue to serve our nation overseas in uniform, our brave men and women who are helping to strengthen the United States of America for generations to come.”
