@gideony if it makes you feel any better, I've hated that commenting system from the get-go.
@nikki_d i just like getting @episcopal_cafe texted to me, cause I'm weird like that.
@David_N_Wilson true that. I took some heat when one of my pro streams twitterfed 5x at once last week... gotta watch that.
And, since Twitter is like big, asynchronous IMs sometimes, just noting that I'll BBL.
The post that's got everyone talking: @cheeky_geeky vs. brands on twitter http://tinyurl.com/6s6y24
@David_N_Wilson does google reader send text messages now that gmail has sms enabled?
@jowyang Shouldn't it be that people follow the brands, not the other way around? Be discoverable, not stalkerish!
@ScottGentzen Yeah, @fox5newsedge and @brianbolter kind of mirror how I break it up. his pic is on fox5, but that makes sense w/TV presence
Is there another feedreader, for instance, that will send you a text message when there is a new blog post at your favorite, must-read blog?
There are a lot of ppl who have told me recently that they feel Twitter is a conversation tool. Yes, but is that all it is?
Question for my general readership: is @signalmag transparent enough?
@cheeky_geeky b/c I don't know what isn't transparent about my name in the profile and signing off any tweet that comes from me personally.
@cheeky_geeky I wouldn't mind if you used @signalmag as a case study -- ask others if I need to change it.
@cheeky_geeky I understand that, but our tweets could come from a number of staff members. I'm just the editor that pipes it out.
@cheeky_geeky AFCEA is an international association, that's why I didn't put "Fairfax VA." My real name is in the profile.
Maybe it's safer to say that a best practice for brands on Twitter is find ways to incorp transparency. sign tweets. put a name in profile.
The reason I use @signalmag for most work tweets is that the c4isr community wants that content, not my observs on life, music, and cats.
@cheeky_geeky also some of my replies point to an affinity for following a brand for "on topic"ness, which my personal stream def. isn't.
@cheeky_geeky What do you think of @signalmag 's profile, with my name in it?
