TRIP TO HAITI  - NOV. & DEC. 2006

Jan joined Yele Haiti, a non-profit Haiti advocacy group, for a trip to Haiti to commemorate World Aids Day in Port-Au-Prince and Jacmel November 30-December 2, 2006.  Jan also worked with the United Nations and United States Embassy in Haiti as a monitor of local and national elections on December 3, 2006.

Jan and Wyclef Jean, hip-hop artist and founder of Yele Haiti, a non-profit organization that uses music, sports and the media to reinforce projects that are making a difference in Haiti's education, health, environment and community development.

UNITED NATIONS, NEW YORK CITY - MARCH 7, 2006

Jan joined House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Members of Congress on an official trip to the United Nations Headquarters to meet with U.S. Ambassador John Bolton and U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan to discuss the situation in Africa, particularly Sudan.  

AFRICA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION TRIP - FEB. 2006

Jan joined House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Members of Congress on an official Congressional delegation trip to Africa from February 16- 24, 2006.  The delegation traveled to Sudan (including Darfur), Cape Verde, Ghana, Liberia, and South Africa.

WHITE HOUSE PROJECT TRIP TO CHILE - MARCH 2006

Jan joined the White House Project on a trip to Chile on March 9-12, 2006 to witness the inauguration of President Michelle Bachelet, the first female President of Chile.
