Mediator Employment Opportunities

Mediators are full-time excepted service employees of the federal government and are stationed in offices throughout the United States.  

We are continuously recruiting qualified candidates for mediator positions. Our mediators currently perform duties in three major areas: collective bargaining mediation; relationship development training; and outreach. Applicants must have substantial experience in collective bargaining agreements. United States citizenship is required.

We are accepting applications for an Information Technology Specialist (System Administrator-SharePoint) GS-2210-13/14. The person selected for this position will have primary responsibility for designing, implementing and managing products to interface with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Exchange Server and other web development software tools.  Primary focus is on MOSS development and deployment of other systems as they relate to MOSS.  The position is located at our headquarters in Washington, D.C.  The announcement closes November 20, 2008.  U.S. Citizenship required.  Please see Vacancy  Announcement FMCS-09-02MP for current and former competitive service Federal employees, people eligible under special hiring authorities and CTAP eligibles and Vacancy Annoucnement FMCS-09-02DEU for all others.
 
We are also looking for a Director for our Alternative Dispute Resolution and International Programs to direct a team of mediators who specialize in Alternative Dispute Resolution, both domestic and internationally, and manage the Institute for Conflict Management (FMCS Institute) in the Federal and public sectors (state and local levels.)  The position is classified as a GS-0241-15. The successful candidate will have experience in the fields of employment law, labor law, collective bargaining, or mediation and dispute resolution as both a practitioner and trainer at the GS-14 (or equivalent level.)  The position is located in Washington, D.C.  You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.  The announcement closes November 28, 2008.  Please see Vacancy Announcement FMCS-09-03 for details.
