The 1999 Packers and Stockyards Statistical Report on livestock marketing and meat packing contains data on industry concentration, plant size, volume of packer feeding, packer financial performance, number of animals purchased by source of supply (public market versus direct purchase), and method of procurement (live versus carcass basis). Most of the data are reported by type of animal, State, or geographic region.
