•    Prior to working for FHWA, served as the chief hydraulics engineer for the Illinois DOT

•    Served on the AASHTO Task Force on Hydrology and Hydraulics

•    Involved in hydraulic analysis and design of bridge and culvert stream crossings, scour, stream stability and countermeasure design, pavement inlet and storm drain design, and pumping station and detention basin design.

•    Serving on the review panel for the development of State DOT drainage manuals

•    Providing classroom instruction for courses on urban drainage design, pump station design, hydraulic design of culverts, and scour and stream stability

•    Assisted in the review of bridge scour analysis and scour countermeasure design for major structures

•    Provided countless solutions to inquiries concerning application and interpretation of FHWA hydraulic publications, software, and policy

•    Provided technical expertise involving plan preparation and project construction issues such as on the TH 55/62 interchange project in Minnesota, involving the impacts of dewatering on the performance of an adjacent spring
