The Library of Congress Celebrates the Joy of Reading
The 2008 National Book Festival, organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress and hosted by First Lady Laura Bush, will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 3rd and 7th streets from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The festival is free and open to the public.

|| Young Readers' Toolkit ||
The 2008 National Book Festival Young Readers Toolkit is now available at www.loc.gov/bookfest/2008/toolkit/. Bringing the festival into libraries, schools and homes across the country, the Toolkit features information about National Book Festival authors who write for children and teens, podcasts of their readings, teaching tools and activities for kids. This interactive resource also shows educators, parents and children how they can host their own book festival.

ASL interpreting services will be provided in all author pavilions during scheduled events. The Accessibility & Information tent (located near the Smithsonian metro stop) will offer access to ASL interpreters, assistive listening devices (ALDs), large-print programs, Braille programs and other special services.
