NYC iPhone types: @danielpunkass and I would like to propose drinks at Marshall Stack (Rivington & Allen) tomorrow night. Say around 9?
Apologies to anyone trying to reach me today. Internet is out at home, so I went to a coffee shop. Internet is also out at the coffee shop.
http://twitpic.com/pgnh - Passing the Keith Haring mural at Bowery and Houston always gives me one of those happy, "Wow, I love in New Y ......
Sad not to have gotten a spot for the NYC iPhone Tech Talk. Still, with so many devs in town, some sort of drinkup seems appropriate...
Protip: There's a recording of me screaming in every copy of Final Cut Studio 2 and Logic Studio. Search for "Buzzhelm" in Soundtrack Pro.
@chockenberry Good points-there are definite differences between the iPhone and Mac market, both in the kinds of apps and the user base.
@chockenberry I think you have to take the long view. PodWorks didn't start out as something I could live on, but with work it got there.
@PolarBearFarm My plan for my iPhone business is the same as for my Mac business: quality product, consistent refinement, word of mouth.
@PolarBearFarm I've long suspected relying on the App Store store system is a dead end. Good thing there are other routes to success.
Fleur de sel on edamame? Morimoto, you magnificent bastard!
@tobyjoe I think you're correct in calling them methods--it's the method *calls* that are messages. At least that's how I think about it...
FWIW, I've used the "store it in the calendar" method, but really find myself wanting something where info is laid out for quick reference.
I know about TripIt, but I want a native app with local storage of information. Sigh--if only I wasn't already working on three projects...
Can anyone recommend a good iPhone app for keeping track of trip information (flights, hotels, etc.)? The options I'm seeing seem a bit meh.
End of the year travel plans are booked: ~10 days in Denver, ~8 days in SF, and a night in Beaver Creek.
It's nice, when you're pulled into a "help the folks with their computer" situation, to be able to say "Ah, I wrote software to solve this."
The Stephen Colbert Christmas Special is absolute genius. Toby Keith's "War on Christmas" song and Willie Nelson's pot carol totally kill.
Extremely proud of how we negotiate Penn Station on one of the most apocalyptic travel days of the year. < 1 hour from door to train.
@Moltz That sounds almost Shakespearean. Is it blank verse?
How is it that Portishead has never been recruited to provide a James Bond theme?
