Summary

GAO reviewed the Social Security Administration's (SSA) new rule on amendments to the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Programs. GAO found that (1) the final rule revises the regulations for the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency Program, which provides Social Security Disability Insurance and disabled Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries expanded options for access to employment services, vocational rehabilitation services, and other support services, and the revisions are intended to improve the overall effectiveness of the program in maximizing the economic self-sufficiency of beneficiaries through work opportunities; and (2) the SSA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
