Duncan Receives High Marks for Support of Immigration Reform

For Immediate Release

June 8, 2005

Washington, D.C. - Americans for Better Immigration has given Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr., (R-Tenn.) a grade of A+ as a result of his support for immigration reform proposals in the last Congress.

Duncan scored a near perfect rating in ABI's review of votes between January 2003 and May 2005.  The organization noted Duncan's support of increasing border controls, preventing growth in the number of foreign worker visas, and reducing immigration fraud when announcing its report card.

Duncan also received an A+ from ABI when the organization studied his entire 17 years of service in Congress.  He ranked first among members of the Tennessee delegation in the career ratings and finished in the top two percent of all members of Congress.

"As an active member of the Immigration Reform Caucus, I believe we must review and strengthen our nation's current immigration policies," Duncan said.  "Improving immigration laws and increasing their enforcement will benefit countless American workers and reward those who follow the rules for entering the United States."
