Duncan Receives Award for Support of Family Values

For Immediate Release

February 17, 2005

The Family Research Council has named Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr., (R-Tenn.) a recipient of its 2004 True Blue Award.

Only 87 House members received the award, which recognizes a perfect voting record on pro-family issues during the second session of the 108th Congress.

Some of these votes include the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, the permanent removal of the marriage tax penalty, the protection of "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, and the Marriage Protection Amendment.

"I thank the Family Research Council for this honor and its work on behalf of family values.  I have long felt that strong families with strong morals are the cornerstone of our great nation, and I will continue to support legislation that protects these beliefs."
