Davis Announces $500,000 for I-40 Interchange, Roane CountyFebruary 04, 2004

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis announced that the FY04 Omnibus Appropriations bill contained $500,000 for construction of an interchange on I-40 at Buttermilk Road. Several appropriations bills were incorporated into this legislation: Agriculture, Commerce-Justice-State, Interior, Foreign Operations, Labor-HHS-Education, Transportation-Treasury, VA-HUD, and miscellaneous appropriations.

"This project will provide safe and efficient access to the interstate and the new industrial site for many Roane countians," Davis said.

This project is considered by the state as critical to the travel and economic welfare of the area since I-40 is on the National Highway System.
