Davis Announces $500,000 for Cumberland Medical Center February 04, 2004

-- U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis announced that the FY04 Omnibus Appropriations bill contained $500,000 for the Cumberland Medical Center. Several appropriations bills were incorporated into this legislation: Agriculture, Commerce-Justice-State, Interior, Foreign Operations, Labor-HHS-Education, Transportation-Treasury, VA-HUD, and miscellaneous appropriations

"This project will greatly improve the access and quality of health care services to the growing high-risk population in Cumberland County," Davis said.

Cumberland Medical Center is planning a major expansion project that will include construction of a new patient tower consisting of private rooms and renovation of existing semi-private rooms into private in order to meet today's patient demands. The expansion project will also expand and renovate the existing Surgery and Emergency Departments to address the growing community's health care needs. In addition, admissions will be relocated to the East side of the facility to improve patient and visitor access.

Congressman Davis last year announced a $500,000 appropriation in the FY03 Omnibus bill for the Fairfield Glade Wellness Center.
