Davis' Local Office Provides Direct Line to Washington

If his first year and a half in office is any indication, U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis is dedicated to serving the people of Warren County.

Davis, who is a frequent visitor to McMinnville, recently pushed to get $11 million in federal highway funds allocated to the area's coveted four-lane to Woodbury project. It's a road Warren countians have eagerly anticipated for years and, at long last, federal and state funding finally appears a reality.

In showing he wants to keep in touch with his constituents here, Davis yesterday held grand opening ceremonies for his new field office on North Chancery Street. The office will give local residents quick access to the ears of Davis, even if he may be hundreds of miles away in Washington, D.C.

"It is extremely important for my constituents in Warren and surrounding counties to have easy and open access to my staff, me, and the services we can provide," said Davis.

Easy and open access to our representatives is exactly what we like-and deserve- from our elected officials. They are, after all, in Washington to serve our needs. That can oftentimes seems an impossible task when they themselves don't appear concerned with hearing our concerns or making themselves accessible.

Having a local field office for a U.S. representative is a tremendous boost for Warren County residents looking to voice their opinions about national issues. It's a pipeline to Washington and one we are thankful to suddenly have right here at home.
