Like many Pennsylvanians, I am concerned about the rising cost of health care and the number of uninsured individuals and families. The United States possess the world’s finest health care system, as well as the most cutting-edge research and development facilities in the world. I am committed to making sure that utilization of this system is within reach of more Pennsylvanians, especially in rural areas.
I support a health care system that affords individuals the opportunity to actively participate in decisions that affect their family's care and reduce the government’s role in private care. Congress must work to create reforms which make the health care system more efficient and more affordable, encouraging market-based solutions like Small Business Health Plans (allowing small businesses to pool resources and lower risk), making Health Savings Accounts more user-friendly, and reforming outrageous medical malpractice laws which force doctors out of Pennsylvania.
